For the perfect business card, follow these tips.
DO include your name and title, if applicable.
DON'T include all of your likes and dislikes, or the names of your 17 cats.
DO include your primary email, phone number and website or address.
DON'T include every possible way to reach you, including your social security number.
DO choose a design that is simple and non-cluttered.
DON'T make the hapless designer squish a 700 word essay about the glory of your company onto a 3.5x2 inch rectangle-shaped card.
DO order your cards with us, and save yourself time and money!

DO YOU HAVE YOUR IDENTITY?
Whether you have a large company, a small business or a taco cart you need a visual print identity.
Start with a logo. This will help your customers identify and connect with you. What should your logo be? How can it best represent you? Should it simply be text or something more unique? We can help you answer these questions.
After your logo has been designed, go ahead and slap it on some business cards. Business Cards are the most basic form of marketing; they provide people with the essentials: Name, Address, Phone and email/Web.
At this point, you're doing pretty well. The next step would be to design a marketing package, so as to better inform potential customers about you. We have a huge range of products that can be incorporated into promotional campaigns. Choose from any on the left to get started!

ALL I WANT FOR XMAS IS MY TWO-SIDED BUSINESS CARD
Sure, you have a business card. But what's on the back of it? Many people overlook the opportunity to expand the potential of their marketing power by utilizing the backside of their business card.
For example, if you run a food-service business the back of your business card can be used as a punchcard! "Buy 5 mocha-frappa-blasters and get 1 free"!
Another option is to put your company logo on the back, instead of cramming all of your information on the front of the card. Your contacts will appreciate the clean, simple look and feel of your business card.
Remember, at Print Identity you can get 1000 full color doubled sided business cards for only $15.00!

What Is DPI?
You've put time and energy into designing the perfect business card. Colors and fonts have been chosen, now to find that perfect background image. You just go to Google images and pick out one you like, finish your card and send it off to your favorite print shop, only to receive a call telling you that your beloved business card cannot be printed. What gives?
The problem is this: Images on the web are usually 72dpi, and the minimum for print is 300dpi.
"What the flying sam hill is dpi", you ask? DPI stands for Dots Per Inch (in this case, the dots are pixels). Most images found on the internet are made up of 72 dots per inch, which will display well on your computer monitor but when printed look very blurry. The minimum amount of dots per inch for any printed image is 300, so if you try to print something from the web professionally you're suddenly 228 dots short!
How can you get around this problem? There are a couple options. One is to purchase high resolution, royalty-free photos from a site like shutterstock.com. At a site like that you can browse hundreds of images that are classified by keywords.
Another option is to do an image search on Google, but search for images over 10mb. Be warned though, many images will be owned by others so it is imperative that you check the copyright status of the image you want to use before printing it.

5 Tips for Business Card Success
Here at Print Identity we see a wide variety of business card designs go through our printing presses. Here are some tips we think you should keep in mind when designing yours.
1. Keep it simple. A business card should include your contact information, company name and tagline. Cluttering up the card with special offers or advertising will detract from its readability.
2. Limit your color pallet. Looking at a card that has every possible color in the rainbow splashed all over it is not only confusing, but unprofessional.
3. Choose a design that compliments your business. Kittens and puppies are nice, but out of context if you own an auto shop, for example.
4. Pick a nice cardstock. Choosing a cardstock of at least medium weight is preferable. No one holds on to a business card that falls apart or bends easily and they may associate that unreliable feeling with your business. A UV coating is a nice, professional touch.
5. Update your design periodically. Each time you order a fresh batch of business cards, update your design. Business cards are cheap, and are a great way to keep your image fresh!

Business Cards or Flyers?
When designing a business card, the main thing to remember is "what is the point"? The purpose of a business card is primarily to provide someone with your contact information. Chiefly your name, title, phone number, email, address and website.
Many times we see examples of business cards that people are treating like flyers, cramming as much information as space will allow. (ex. 10% off! Punch this card 5 times and get one free! By the way, let me tell you a little about myself. I was born in blablablablabla... etc.) This is not a good idea. It leaves an impression of confusion and disorganization, which are not words that you want your customers to associate with your business.
If your main goal is to advertise, it's best to stick to flyers, postcards and marketing brochures. These items are larger and built for colorful graphics and ad copy.
